Traditional Chinese Massage
The class will introduce traditional Chinese Tuina massage, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and body channel
& acupuncture points. English narration and handout are available from our school
Chinese Calligraphy
Conducted in English, the class teaches everything, from meaning evolution of the Chinese characters, to culture and history. You don't have to be able to write Chinese already, just have to be enthusiastic and be willing to hold a brush while learning.
Chinese Cooking
Chinese chef will guide you to make Chinese dishes on the spot and introduce Chinese local cuisines-flavor, taste and color etc. For instance Cantonese dishes, Sichuan dishes etc.
Chinese Songs
Traditional folk and pop songs will be taught and lyrics will be presented in both pinyin and Chinese characters. |

Peking Opera
Peking opera of China is a national treasure with a history of 200 years. In the 55th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty(1790) ,the four big Huiban opera Troupes entered the capital and combined with Kunqu opera, Yiyang opera, Hanju opera and Luantan in Beijing's thearetical circle of the time. Through a period of more than half a century of combination and integration of various kinds of opera there evolved the present Peking opera, the biggest kind of opera in China, whose richness of repertoire, great number of artists of performance and of audiences, and profound influence are incomparable in China.
Peking opera is a synthesis of stylized action, singing, dialogue and mime, acrobatic fighting and dancing to represent a story or depict different characters and their feelings of gladness, anger, sorrow, happiness, surprise, fear and sadness. In Peking opera there are four main types of roles: sheng (male) dan (young female), jing( painted face, male), and chou (clown, male or female). The characters may be loyal or treacherous, beautiful or ugly, good or bad, their images being vividly manifested. |

Taiji Quan (Tai Chi)

Chinese Brush Painting
Teacher will introduce and demonstrate the basics of Chinese brush painting, including painting techniques and the proper use of equipment and materials (brushes, ink, colour, paper and Chinese stamps). Participants will be instructed on how to hold the brush properly and the use of various brush strokes.
Chinese Instrument
Teacher will teach you how to play traditional Chinese instruments such as Erhu, Guzheng and Pipa etc. Relevant musical knowledge will be taught in English
Taiji Quan (Tai chi)
The school course will be taught the simplified form of Tai Ji Quan, Tai Chi Sword, different Taijji pushing hands, xing yi quan, ba gua zhang, wushu theory - this relaxing and gentle martial art of Tai Chi aimed at improving health and overall physical and mental fitness. |

Chinese Knot
A kind of characteristic folk decorations of handicraft art. Appeared in ancient time, developed in Tang and Song Dynasty (960-1229A.D.)and popularized in Ming and Qing Dynasty (1368-1911A.D.) Chinese Knot has now become a kind of elegant and colorful arts and crafts from its original practical use.
The characteristic of Chinese Knot is that every knot is made of a single rope and named by its specific form and meaning. By combining different knots or other auspicious adornments(吉祥的装饰品) skillfully, an unique auspicious ornament which represents beauty, idea and wishes is formed. For example, "Full of joy". "Happiness & Longevity", "Double Happiness". "Luck and Auspiciousness as one wishes" and "Wish you a fair wind" are Chinese traditional pleasant phrases expressing warmest regards, best wishes and finest ideal.
Today, people are fond of Chinese Knot for its characteristic form, colorfulness and profound meaning. |

Chinese Paper Cut
The paper-cut is one of the folk’s traditional decorative arts which China popularizes the most. Probably because its so easy that, cost cheap, result stand and see, meet surface wide and welcome generally material;
The paper-cut has not only displayed the masses' aesthetic hobby, and include and accumulating, it is one of the skills of the people that has the characteristic most in China too,
Paper-cut design are often derived from figures found on ancient pottery and rock paintings .paper-cuts often resemble frogs ,snakes ,fish .birds ,dragons., and gods of the ancients. Paper-cut tigers implicate longevity in Chinese culture .tree and deer heads symbolize continuity .to express wishes for children, paper cuts are made to resemble fish, lotus flowers, gourds, dragons and phoenixes. |
